The Late Night Book
The Late Night Book was a popular iPad app in the App Store. A soothing night pre-bed ritual devised to help strengthen the comprehension skills of children in the early stages of reading. A version in Spanish and another one for Android phones soon followed. Project Tiki, a west coast marketing firm, commissioned me to design the experience around this story written by Jim O’Loughlin. Following some initial research I developed a set of engaging interaction patterns with fun motion dynamics that would appeal to young audiences within that age group. I also designed the visual and brand language around the product, the application interface, and main sales site. I’ve included here one of the videos submitted by a user one year after the first version launched, which showcase the engagement level we achieved with our young end-users.
