No, it’s not the “big” Cannes show, it’s a smaller, humbler event in the same area of France but we are proud of the recognition regardless. This comes just in time to coincide with the date that marks one year of the official release of “Infected,” finished November 9, and officially released on November 20, 2020.
“How late is too late?”
Infected has been described by one of the judges of the The People’s Film Festival as “An incisive and thought-provoking piece of performance art about modern dystopia.”
Yet another juror stated “The film pummels the viewer with its message […] Though schizophrenic in its approach to content, the visual narrative is surprisingly clear with an impactful climax of societal decay aptly realized by “Lord of the Flies” reference.”
A third one adds “The scathing social and political commentary is right on the money. This music video is a very uncomfortable look in the mirror as it’s latent with so much symbolism and easter eggs that several viewings are needed to fully consume all the references.”

The title of the song, “Infected,” was conceived months before the coronavirus pandemic declared itself in China to spread globally shortly thereafter. It was intended as a metaphor rather than a direct reference to the pandemic that followed,
The image of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as front-runners in the “puppet show” was animated during the 2020 DNC, months before these politicians were annointed as the official candidates for the democratic party, and when they were manifestly the least favorite candidates of the entire party roster as far as the people were concerned.
