Over the past year, Best Buy has engaged my services as lead experience designer for an ambitious content management system it’s developing internally. The main purpose is to centralize all non-product related content for the company’s digital properties under one unique, platform-agnostic system. This is driven by the C.O.P.E. principle (Create Once, Publish Everywhere).
- Proposed and carried out significant shift from folder-driven file organization to tabbed/metadata-driven findability system.
- Distilled interface needs to most efficient user-serving functionality identifying and prioritizing other desired outcomes into the agile cadence.
- Introduced many elements of lean UX into the team process: collaborative design, cross-functional team work, shared understanding, designing for outcomes vs. features, and ongoing research through regular touch-points with end-users.
